The Crocifisso del Tufo Burial Ground
The extremely interesting Crocifisso del Tufo burial ground is in the valley that surrounds the rocky plateau on which the city of Orvieto is built.
The site contains tombs dating from between the 6th and 3rd century BC, and is of particular interest on account of its regular and planned layout, similar to the urban design of a city.
Many of the finds unearthed here are now in the Louvre and the British Museum.
