Donation of the Holy Thorn in Montone
Montone (Pg). From August 17th to 24th Montone will be holding its pageant, the Donazione della Sacra Spina, which commemorates the donation of a thorn from the Crown of Christ by Carlo Fortebracci, whose father Braccio Fortebracci had in turn received as thanks for his successful defeat of the Turks for the Republic of Venice.
